Providing long term care for our sick and elderly is such a rewarding job with all of the love that we have to give to them; it takes a lot of hard work and dedication to give our people the care that they deserve especially since they have spent their entire lives taking care of us. There comes a time when the tides are turned and we will all be in the identical circumstances and need help from others and that is where our humanity comes into play; and if you were to live in the prime area of Arizona then it would be more likely that your elderly would be in the Phoenix area nursing homes. Candy stripers are a thing of the past with all of the legal ramifications, in the earlier years any decent young lady of 16 years or older could volunteer their time a few hours a week assisting in the nursing homes supplying company to the older folks and helping them with some meals; or even provide some bathing procedures.

And with so many medical issues and contagious diseases growing stronger every day the dangers are so scary the government had to put a halt to all of these young candy stripers going in and being subjected to so many possibilities; with our wonderful educated nurses and their assistants the health of our family members is in such better hands. We the people feel much more secure knowing that our family members are safe and free of any inexperienced hands, even though the heart was there; there needs to be knowledge and education taking care of our sick not just volunteers.
